Living in Limbo: One Veteran's Struggle With Life After Iraq - 2013

A former combat videographer, Kathryn Robinson, describes trying to get her life back on track after her return from Iraq left her with PTSD and thoughts of suicide.

The majority of this report is very good but I have to say it. This part is pure crap.

Substance abuse is not the cause of suicides but is a part of PTSD.  It is called self-medicating because they want to stop feeling.  Failed relationships are also part of PTSD.  Ever try living with someone with PTSD when they totally change and you don't have a clue why? I knew what it was and there was a time when even I was lost.  Past abuse? Well again they got that wrong because unless they stopped doing psychological testing before handing recruits weapons, problems would have shown up before hand.  Could they hide mild PTSD? It is possible but not probable.
