Five families of fallen war fighters and veterans suffering for what?

So now the story is not about the Affordable Care Act but they don't seem to know why they are holding up the budget yet again and we have to keep suffering.

We've all heard of Corporate Raiders taking over companies to destroy them from within. Well it seems we have the same thing going on with the Tea Party so hell bent on proving the government doesn't work, they made sure they broke it.

I lost patience a long time ago with them as soon as they went after veterans. Yes, veterans seem to be a favorite target of their claws. Remember Paul Ryan and his budget that hacked the VA? Thank God the Senate said hell no. We remember Michele Bachmann plan was to cut veterans benefits by 4.5 billion. They are just the part of what has been going on.

Veterans care about a lot of things so they want this country they risked their lives for to work for everyone, not just for them but the last thing they want is to have more harm done to them. Enough is enough.

Furloughs affect veterans' ability to check on benefits claims face to face.

WASHINGTON — Veterans regional offices are closed and nobody is answering phones Tuesday as the government shutdown forces furloughs of 7,000 employees of the Veterans Benefits Administration.

"All public access to VBA regional offices and facilities will be suspended," said Victoria Dillon, Veterans Affairs Department spokeswoman.

Walk-ins and phone calls to regional offices are common to get status reports on benefits and to seek help. Voluntary officers from veterans organizations who help file claims are located in many regional offices, so access to them could be restricted.

Yes, they just ended up cutting more jobs for the folks taking care of veterans.

So a bunch of yahoos like Bachmann made a show of opening up the Memorials in Washington so that the veterans would be able to visit them and they would look good mugging for the news crews pretending they cared when behind the veterans' backs they proved they didn't.

I was in work on yet another temp assignment because these people stopped caring about "creating" jobs as soon as the election was over and Romney lost. All they have cared about is ending the Affordable Care Act they thought calling Obamacare would make it something dirty. Maybe they fooled their voters but they didn't fool the rest of us. If it was so bad and they cared, then they should have fixed it instead of holding over 40 votes to end it.

How many hearings did they have on military suicides and why they had gone up after they funded programs to the tune of over a billion a year? None. Sure they played as if they gave a damn listening to families tell their heartbreaking stories but not once did they hold anyone accountable.

How many times did they hold hearings on the fraud going all over this country committed by veterans groups pretending to be raising funds for veterans when most of the money went into their pockets? Are these guys really watchdogs of our money or not?

If this isn't enough to tick you off, you need to read what else I was reading in work today.
'Just disgusting': Outrage after shutdown delays payment for families of fallen

In what veterans call an outrageous slight after the ultimate sacrifice, the shuttered federal government is withholding a $100,000 payment normally wired to relatives of fallen soldiers — including the families of five killed in Afghanistan over the weekend.

The payment, known as the death gratuity, is typically sent to families of the fallen within three days to help them cover funeral costs or travel to meet the flag-draped coffins of their loved ones.

“It is upsetting because my husband died for his country, and now his family is left to worry,” said Ashley Peters of Springfield, Mo., whose husband, Jeremy, was a special agent assigned to the Army’s 5th Military Police Battalion and was among the five killed. “My husband always said if something happened to him we would be taken care of.”
