A U.S. Marine is killed at the hands of an off-duty Baltimore City police officer.
The big question now is did alcohol play a role in the deadly shooting? Suzanne Collins reports the family has gathered to mourn the loss of the man who was a husband and father.

The family says they can't understand why a police officer would shoot Tyrone Brown.

They say he's a former Marine, he's a hard worker, a father, and a law-abiding citizen.

Brown's family is hugging, crying, and trying to come to terms with his death.

Scott's sister was present around 1:30 Saturday morning outside a tavern on Eager Street when the off-duty officer fired multiple shots at her brother.

8:46 p.m. CDT, May 11, 2010

A former Marine who neighbors say obsessed over his University Park lawn is being held on $3 million bail, accused of gunning down a neighbor whose puppy urinated on the man's well-manicured grass.

Charles J. Clements, 69, had won the south suburb's beautification and lawn upkeep award but also was known for threatening people who dared to set foot in his yard, neighbors said.

Joshua Funches, a 23-year-old father of two, was walking his fox terrier Gucci in the 500 block of Landau Road on Sunday night when the dog lifted its leg and went on Clements' lawn, said Funches' mother Patricia, 53.

WINTER SPRINGS - A 62-year-old woman died after a shooting at her home before dawn today -- one day before she was to get married.

Killed was Nancy Lynne Dinsmore, a retiree who lived at the house with John J. Tabbutt, her husband-to-be, also 62.

They were to be married Saturday at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Winter Springs, according to friends and family.

It was to be a small ceremony, said Dinsmore's son-in-law, Scott Sposato, 39, of Vero Beach. It was to include mostly family, he said.

"They loved each other. It was quite apparent," he said.

Dinsmore and Tabbutt had lived together for about a year, he said, but had known each other for much longer. The couple has a summer home in Maine and had recently returned from there to Tabbutt's gray-and-white stucco home near Tuscawilla, he said.
