Do not swift boat McCain

Because of the post I did on how McCain should apologize to veterans, I've been reading about how he is being swift boated. I'm angry over what he has not done in the last few years and not about what his history has been or what he did in all of his years of public service. Sorry if I gave any of the readers the wrong impression. I voted for McCain when he was running against Bush in 2000. During that primary I wanted the best man to become president. It turned out that when it was between Bush and Gore, I voted for Gore. McCain back then had the best interest of the nation in all he did instead of political party. I don't know what happened to him in the last few years but he is not the same man I respected. That is my issue with him.

Now the Swift boaters are going after him, his service and everything he's done the same way they did in 2000 when he was up against Bush. His service record is not fair game. The positions he takes and the votes he places are. If the Swift Boaters or Veterans Against McCain want to play fair, there is enough in the last couple of years to go after. Why try to disgrace his service. McCain did a lot for veterans in his history as a senator. He also accomplished a lot since he returned from Vietnam. They need to stop lying about him.

This is the last political post I will do in this manner. It is in response to what I've had to read over the last couple of days in order to clear the air. I only do them when they say something that is not true about veterans or they come out with statements on veterans.
