A Keithville woman whose decomposed body was found in a Shreveport house last week was a veteran of the Iraq war, police said Tuesday.
Forensic experts identified Stephanie Breaux, 28, through dental records and tattoos, Shreveport police Detective Rod Demery said.
Breaux completed two tours in Iraq, most recently in 2006, he said.
Breaux's family could not be reached Tuesday for comment.
Her grandparents told police they had not seen her since March 7 but it wasn't uncommon for her to leave home without telling anyone, Demery said.
Police believe she had been in the vacant building on Sprague Street for two to four weeks.
