INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - An Indianapolis firefighter was killed while serving in Iraq.
The Indianapolis Fire Department released word late Monday night that Captain Gary Henry was killed by a road side bomb.
Captain Henry was a 12 veteran of the IFD and served as the Special Operations Rescue Coordinator before being deployed to Iraq.
Captain Gregg Harris with the Indianapolis Fire Department said, "Captain Henry served the citizen of Indianapolis with pride and dignity. He served and protected his country with honor."
