Oviedo woman victim of home invasion

Seminole woman victim of home invasion
A Seminole County woman was bound and gagged Tuesday by burglars who may have thought they were breaking into an unoccupied house, deputy sheriffs said. The woman, in her early 40s, was home alone in the 3800 block of Carnaby Drive, south of Oviedo, when the burglars rang the doorbell, pounded on the door and then forced their way in, sheriff's Capt. Dennis Lemma said. There were no cars in the driveway, probably giving the impression no one was home, Lemma said. One of the men pulled a handgun and pointed it at the woman's head, forcing her into a bedroom where her ankles and hands were tied. She was gagged and a pillowcase placed over her head. They threatened to kill her if she didn't remain on the bed, Lemma said. At first the woman heard noise, but after she called out and got no response, she untied her hands and went to a neighbor's house. That neighbor called 911.
