Carson soldier dies in "noncombat" incident in Iraq

A 21-year-old Fort Carson soldier was killed Saturday in what is being classified as a "noncombat-related incident" in Iraq, the Department of Defense said Monday.
The death of Spec. Kevin R. Dickson of Steelville, Mo., is under investigation, authorities said.
He was assigned to the 10th Special Forces Airborne Group at the Colorado Springs Army base.
A spokesman for the Department of Defense in Washington, which put out the announcement, was not familiar with the circumstances and could not comment, he said.
A Fort Carson spokeswoman would not comment, citing the ongoing Department of Defense investigation.
