Man shoots wife to hide their eviction

MIDWEST CITY, Okla., Dec. 11 (UPI) -- An Oklahoma man has been arrested for allegedly shooting and wounding his wife because he didn't know how to tell her they'd been evicted, police said.
Thomas Wayne Garrett, who told police he shot his wife, is being held on one count of shooting with intent to kill, ABC News reported.
Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes said Cynthia Garrett, 54, is in critical condition, adding there is a "strong likelihood" she'll die from her injuries.
