Who would want to kill Larry Stefkovich? police asked his son.

Larry Stefko scoured his memory. His father, 62, was a Vietnam veteran, construction worker and avid fisherman. He loved the wife and son he found after years of being separated from them by the war. People who knew him liked him.

"I just couldn't come up with a name," Stefko, 37, said Thursday.

Orlando police are wondering, too. The man they found slain at the Vacation Lodge about 9:45 a.m was well-liked among the motel's tight-knit regulars. Why anyone would kill him is a mystery, police said.
