FORT CARSON, Colo. -- An Ozarks soldier honored for his fighting in the war in Iraq reunites with his fellow soldiers during a homecoming.

Strafford native Specialist Lukas Shook was injured in combat last year, and received a personal visit from President Bush at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

On Friday, he made an emotional and triumphant return to his Colorado post.

About 150 soldiers from Fort Carson's Military police company returned to post Friday following a 15-month deployment in Iraq.

And for the first time in eight months, Specialist Shook was reunited with his unit.

Doctors said that Shook was unlikely to walk again because of his injuries. But beating the odds, he walked right into his homecoming in Fort Carson.
