Orlando welcomes home 7 Marines from Afghanistan

At Orlando International Airport, a small crowd gathered to welcome home 7 Marines back from Afghanistan.
Other people waiting for flights ended up getting just as excited for them to arrive.
A Mom of one of the Marines kept checking her text messages from a very worried new Mom afraid she would miss her husband arriving and update messages from her son letting her know where they were.
Among the people waiting was this couple. The man is a WWII ex-POW!

The new Mom made it just in time to see her husband walk out of the gate.

A hundred people gathered at the Orlando International Airport on Saturday to celebrate the safe return of seven U.S. Marine reservists returning from duty in Afghanistan.

Friends and family broke down in tears as the men, wearing civilian clothes, made their way through the arrival gate and into a sea of American flags and signs that read "Welcome Home."

Angela Winters dressed her 7-month-old daughter in red, white and blue. A sign next to them read "Welcome Home Daddy." Her husband, Lance Cpl. Stephen Winters, was injured in two separate blasts but survived. He received a purple heart.

"It was a huge sigh of relief to have him back," she said. Her daughter was only 4 days old when her husband was deployed.

  1. The only thing better than seeing the pictures and video was being there in person! May all of them come home safe and timely!
