December 17, 2011 (LAGRANGE, Ill.) (WLS) -- Friends, family, neighbors and dozens of others greeted Lance Corporal Joshua Misiewicz at his family's LaGrange home.

They thanked the Marine for his service. He was deployed to Afghanistan last Christmas. Five months into his seven-month tour of duty, he was wounded in an IED explosion and lost both of his legs. It's been a long road, but Lance Corporal Misiewicz is focused on the positive.

"This is just awesome. This welcome home has been unbelievable," Lance Corporal Misiewicz said Saturday about his huge homecoming. The 23-year old, who was wounded in July, spent five months at Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda learning to walk again.
