3 Camp Pendleton Marines Killed in Crash

DANA POINT, Calif. (AP) -- Three Camp Pendleton Marines have been killed and a fourth is hospitalized in critical condition after their car slammed into a tree at high speed in Southern California.

Orange County sheriff's investigators say the Marines were in a 2005 Dodge Stratus that went out of control on a Dana Point street at 2:05 a.m. Tuesday.

Orange County sheriff's investigators said speed appeared to be the primary factor in a violent crash that left three Camp Pendleton Marines dead and a fourth hospitalized in critical condition.

The Marines were in a 2005 Dodge Stratus that went out of control on a Dana Point street at 2:05 a.m. Tuesday and slammed into a tree, sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said.
