Connecticut's Vietnam vets will be 'welcomed home' on March 31

On March 31, Connecticut's Vietnam veterans will be welcomed home. A planning committee of The Department of Veterans Affairs, in conjunction with the Central Connecticut State University Veterans History Project, has planned “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans,” a one-time event to recognize Connecticut's Vietnam veterans and provide them with a positive welcome home experience that most of them never received when returning to American soil after serving in Vietnam.

The Veterans History Project began approximately 10 years ago in Washington, D.C., and subsequently caught on in a number of states, including Connecticut. The goal of the Veterans History Project is to try to document as many first-hand, U.S. veteran accounts and photos as possible.
