SAYRE - He is remembered.

On Sunday in Sayre, a bright red poppy lay on the gray and reddish pavement of the Sayre Theatre plaza.

Beside the flower, a square paver that had been freshly set in the pavement remembered a Waverly native and Army soldier, Sgt. Dan Hamilton, who passed away last year following a struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

The message on the paver bore an inscription: "Some Gave All."

In an evening ceremony, Hamilton was remembered as members of his family set the paver into the plaza. A poem was read, the color guard was on hand and did its duties, and "Amazing Grace" was played on the bagpipes. A program followed in the theater with information about PTSD presented.
