Florida DAV Auxiliary Commanders award went to me?

Busy weekend with the Florida Disabled American Veterans and Auxiliary convention.

It began at the Chapter 16 meeting and certificates of appreciation for volunteers including a special award for Nelson Vale's 65th year as a life member. With camera rolling as usual, I managed to capture me getting a volunteer certificate, so come back tomorrow when the video should be edited. There are two more to edit as well so please be patient.

I wanted to get something out of the way first. I am very uncomfortable "tooting my own horn" and I'm told it is one of the reasons why I fly so low below the radar. Anyway, the Florida DAV Auxiliary Past Commanders presented me with their Member of the Year. One more video you'll want to check out since I am sure I turned red. I haven't looked at the footage yet but there is some great music from three women.

So, before I get into a boatload of trouble with my friends, here's the certificate and the videos will be up within a day or so. It felt strange being in front of the camera instead of behind it.

  1. I can't think of a better person to receive the DAV Auxiliary Commanders award.

  2. Thank you very much Bob. I'm glad the camera was on the tripod. My hands started shaking when it dawned on me, they were talking about me.
