The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help in finding a missing militaryveteran suffering from mental illness who was last seen in Detroit on Monday after being dropped off at the VA hospital.

Richard Furdock, 59, was brought to the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center, 4646 John R, for a doctor’s appointment after being picked up from a New Haven group home about 5:15 a.m. Monday Lt. John Michalke said.

According to personnel at the hospital, his appointment was canceled just before his visit but he did arrive at the hospital via third-party transportation used by the hospital, Michalke said. He said the hospital called the group home to report the appointment cancellation.
