Texas Army National Guardsman Killed by DUI Driver

Brandon Bennett, 20, of Hurst was on his way to Lewisville for drills at the Texas Army National Guard early Sunday when he was struck and killed in a traffic accident in Euless.

The other driver, Beth Branum, 29, of Granbury remained in the Euless Jail on Monday with bail set at $15,000. She faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter in connection with the accident. Branum was taken into custody by Euless police after being treated and released from Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.

Bennett's mother, Brenda Holden of Hurst, fought back tears Monday as she talked about her son, a graduate of L.D. Bell High School.
