EUSTIS, Fla. — A wounded veteran and his family are stepping foot into a brand new life on Friday. Because of Army veteran Tommy Travis' sacrifices, a Eustis woman has donated her house to his family.
The gesture is something that Travis said he will never be able to pay back.

For the last week, the three-bedroom house with a pool has been under renovation. "It's the beginning of the largest chapter of my life. It's the best part of my life," Travis said.

Travis spent 15 months in Iraq. He watched two friends die, and he suffered a brain injury after a grenade hit his Humvee. read more here
For the last week, the Lifetime TV show "Designing Spaces: Military Makeovers" has been giving the home a complete renovation.
"A few months ago, our producers received a call from Wilma (“Tinky”) Stuart of Orlando, FL. She was touched by what she saw on the Military Makeover series that aired in November 2014, coming from a military family herself. Wilma wants to make a difference for a needy veteran — and has generously donated a home to our next Military Makeover family." Designing Spaces Military Makeovers
