Lakota Brightman served in the U.S. Army as a field medic and had been homeless for more than a year before his death, Quanah Brightman said.RICHMOND (CBS SF) — Police on Tuesday arrested a Richmond man in the stabbing death of an Afghanistan war veteran in Richmond last Friday, a police sergeant said. Mark Nelson, 50, was arrested around 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Sea Horse Motel, located at 909 Cutting Blvd., on a warrant for the killing of 45-year-old Richmond resident Lakota Brightman, Richmond police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.
An officer reviewing video surveillance footage of the stabbing recognized Nelson from prior interactions with him, according to police. read more here
