The majority of the work for all three programs, collectively totaled at $16 million, will be performed in the Washington, D.C. area, Chicago, IL, and Salt Lake City, UT.
Reston, VA-based Leidos, a national security, health, and engineering solutions company, has announced three new contracts with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to help the agency maximize operational efficiencies, reduce healthcare costs, and improve veteran care.
The first two contracts were awarded by the VA's Office of Information and Technology, Product Development. Under the task orders, Leidos will provide IT related services to the Blood Bank Program and program management services to the My HealtheVet (MHV) program. The MHV program provides an eHealth portal where veterans can view and manage their personal health record online in a secure environment, as well as access health information, health assessments, and electronic services online.
Work will include maintenance and support to Legacy Veterans Integrated System Technology Architecture (VistA) Blood Bank v5.2, VistA Blood Establishment Computer Software, and interface support to maintain communications with other VistA or vendor applications. Maintenance and support ensure these applications continue to provide effective support to clinicians in delivering patient care, laboratory staff in providing safe blood transfusions, meeting blood bank regulatory agency requirements, and required hospital reporting services. Specific support that Leidos will provide includes project management, technical writing, project documentation, strategic planning, schedule management, and risk management.
